Meet Kurt Navarro.

My name is Kurt Navarro, and my passion is helping athletes become the strongest, most confident version of themselves.

I was born and raised in Hawaii before moving to San Diego while serving in the United States Navy. Athletics have always been a part of my life-from football, wrestling, and track in high school to competing in jiu-jitsu, bodybuilding, and now powerlifting.

Every sport taught me something different, but powerlifting became the place where my passion for coaching truly developed.

More than helping athletes lift heavier weights, my goal is to become a coach they can trust throughout their journey.

I hope athletes remember the personal records we celebrated together, but even more importantly, I hope they remember how invested I was in helping them achieve those moments. I believe coaching is a partnership. When an athlete commits to putting in the work, I believe it’s my responsibility to match that effort—and then some.

Every milestone, every setback, and every breakthrough matters. I celebrate those moments alongside my athletes because their success genuinely means something to me. My goal isn’t just to help someone become a better powerlifter, but to help them build confidence, resilience, and habits that carry over into life outside the gym.

My Philosophy

Since 2017, I’ve coached powerlifters ranging from first-time competitors to national-level athletes while continuing to compete myself at the highest levels of the sport.

My coaching philosophy is built around one belief:

No two athletes are the same.

Every lifter has different movement tendencies, leverages, strengths, weaknesses, goals, and experiences. Rather than forcing everyone into the same technique, I believe coaching should adapt to the individual.
